Director's Notes

Happy New Year! Hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing holiday break! We are very excited to prepare for another semester of great music in the HCMS Band!

• JAZZ BAND MONDAY Our Horns & Hooves Jazz Band will meet on Monday, January 6! We would like to try to get a few more minutes together on these rehearsals and extend until 4:00 on Mondays.  We will start this tomorrow - but understand if we have students who need to leave by 3:45 since this is a recent change!

• HCMS BAND PARENTS ON FACEBOOK Thank you to everyone who has already shared photos and video on our Facebook page! If you are on social media and not a member, please be sure to join "HCMS Band Parents" on Facebook!  (As this is a private group, please be sure to answer the membership questions so we approve your request!)

• SUPPLIES Please be sure your student has all necessary items for band class, especially as we prepare for our big holiday concert.  Clarinet and Saxophone players must have at least 3 good reeds at all times.  Percussion (7th/8th Grade) must have a stick bag, yarn mallets, bell mallets, rubber mallets and drumsticks.  Items may be purchased through the band program if it helps you.  Please email Ms. Parker or Mr. Moran with questions.
