Director's Notes
I hope you all have a very Happy Thanksgiving! Please encourage your students to get in some time on their concert music as it will be occurring two short weeks after we return from break!
Our students have the option to complete a Thanksgiving Bingo card (attached to this newsletter). For a Bingo (5 boxes in a row), they will receive their choice of Halloween Candy. For a black-out (completed the entire card), they will get a full size candy. Cards must have parent signature to be accepted/turned in for prizes. Students can do up to 3 boxes per day! There are some that do not involve playing to assist those who may be traveling this week.
Our Beginners will be combining to prepare for their first concert on Thursday, November 30 from 3:00-4:00 p.m. This will be a grade and all beginning band students need to attend. Thank you for your assistance as this is our only opportunity to practice together before they perform!
Hampton Cove Jazz will rehearse on Tuesday, November 28.
If you find that you have extra Halloween candy at your home, please feel free to send it to the band room! We appreciate donations to incentivize and reward our awesome students throughout the week!
Thank you for your support of our ButterBraid fundraiser! Orders will come in on December 12 and be available for pick-up from 3-5 in the HCMS Cafeteria.
Upcoming Dates:
Thursday, December 7 - Holiday Concert (HHS Auditorium) - 6:00 p.m.
(All bands will perform - Required Event for all students)
If you did not order a black band shirt or hoodie, we do have some extras available. Shirts are $15 (payable cash/check/MySchoolFees) and hoodies are $40 (payable cash/check to HCMS Band).
Be sure to check out our new band website! www.hcovemsband.org
