Director's Notes

Thank you all for a fantastic semester!  We are very proud of all of our students and their tremendous progress this school year! We look forward to even more wonderful music when we return in January!

We wish you all a very happy and healthy holiday season!  Thank you again for your continued support of the HCMS Bands!

• NO JAZZ BAND MONDAY Our Jazz Band will not meet on Monday afternoon.  We will resume after school starts back in January!

• STOCKING STUFFERS Each year we have family members ask about gift ideas for band members. Please see below for a list of gift ideas for your musicians.   

• HOLIDAY BINGO Holiday Bingo cards will be available on Schoology for any students who wish to participate over the break!  If your student is looking for things to do while on break, feel free to point them that way!

• INSTRUMENT REPAIRS The holiday season is a great time to take care of any instrument repairs and get ready for next semester!  We appreciate your help making sure all of our students have instruments in good working order!

• HCMS BAND PARENTS ON FACEBOOK Thank you to everyone who has already shared photos and video on our Facebook page! If you are on social media and not a member, please be sure to join "HCMS Band Parents" on Facebook!  (As this is a private group, please be sure to answer the membership questions so we approve your request!)

• SUPPLIES Please be sure your student has all necessary items for band class, especially as we prepare for our big holiday concert.  Clarinet and Saxophone players must have at least 3 good reeds at all times.  Percussion (7th/8th Grade) must have a stick bag, yarn mallets, bell mallets, rubber mallets and drumsticks.  Items may be purchased through the band program if it helps you.  Please email Ms. Parker or Mr. Moran with questions.
